Salary MLSO Band 6+ - £29.22 per hour all inclusive

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) is a national centre of excellence with an international reputation for diagnosis, assessment and treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. The Theatre complex at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital consists of 10 Theatres and a Plaster Theatre.

An opportunity has now arisen within the Operating Department to join the existing theatre team as a flexible Bank member of staff. The post holder will be an enthusiastic self-motivated person with good communication skills. Previous orthopaedic experience is desirable but all applications will be considered.

These positions are suitable for practitioners on a permanent basis with a theatre nurse and/or Operating Department Practitioner training.  Applicants must be registered nurses or ODPs who hold appropriate post basic qualifications, experience of working in theatre following qualification is required. 

As an essential part of the theatre team, your role within the department will encompass and offer support to Theatre Team Leaders, Coordinators and Consultants to deliver a high standard of care.  Your role will also require safe patient care within other areas of the hospital.  You will participate in the cleaning and re stocking and preparation of the operating theatres and equipment care. You are required to have excellent communication skills, be a team person, empathetic and most important be able to remain calm and steady under pressure.  This role also requires a reassuring manner, and the understanding of the rights and privacy and dignity of patients. 

RNOH uses identification scanning technology to confirm the authenticity of key documents such as Passports, Driving Licences etc. It is a condition of appointment that all prospective employees of RNOH have their original documents verified using this technology.

The RNOH operates a Smoke-Free Policy. Smoking is not permitted on any of the Trust’s premises (including the grounds that those premises are sited on) or in any Trust owned vehicle. Applicants should be aware that it might not be possible to smoke throughout working hours.
